Principal of River’s Edge Montessori

October is National Principals Month! This is a great time to thank our principals for all of their hard work to keep our schools running smoothly and to help our students achieve. We will be introducing you to several of our new principals each week. Our second principal is Meg Thomas of River’s Edge Montessori.

Tell us about your background! Have you been a principal before? Where? 

I have been a Montessori principal for 18 years in OH, NC and KY. I’ve been a Montessori teacher for decades before being a principal.

What do you love about being a principal?

Being a part of children’s educational development and sharing a love of life long learning!

What is your vision or goal for your school?

To be a gem in DPS as the consolidation of the Montessori schools and returning to our authentic roots of hands-on learning.

What motivates you?

Positive energy and individuals who are passionate about embracing change as a way to demonstrate a growth mindset and moving forward!

What is an interesting fact about you not everyone knows?

I grew up in Dayton as a member of the huge Zink family!
