Approximately 315 seniors from all six Dayton Public high schools lined up to sign a banner and announce their college choice or career path on Friday, May 3 at the DPS College and Career Signing Day.

The annual event, held at Sinclair Community College, celebrates students who will be pursuing a college education or career after high school. Their choices ranged from local and out-of-state colleges and universities to military service and employment in a variety of fields.

Students heard from Mayor Nan Whaley, Ohio State Senator Fred Strahorn and representatives from Sinclair, the University of Dayton and Wright State University.

Speakers encouraged students to pursue their dreams, work hard and enjoy the next chapter in their lives. Additionally, students learned more about financial aid, FAFSA and scholarships.
