Fifteen Dayton Public Schools employees were honored for going above and beyond in their commitment to serving students on Friday, Feb. 22.

The Breakfast of Champions is held three times a year in cooperation with Learn to Earn Dayton, Montgomery County Educational Service Center and the Mayor’s City of Learners Initiative.

“This is a time to reflect on the quality of education I received and my children received at Dayton Public Schools,” said Dayton Commissioner Jeffrey Mims, Jr. at the event. “This is truly a district of champions.”

Those honored are the “silent heroes” who work hard each day, according to Associate Superintendent Dr. Shelia Burton, as well as those on the front lines of education and interaction with students.
